Serenade Garden
The ‘Serenade Garden’, a collaboration of the landscape designers at Country Mile
Gardens, is inspired by the beautiful balcony at Wildfair which overlooks the garden and
lends itself perfectly to a Shakespearean love story. The garden is a bouquet full of
romantic spring blooms, in soft purples, blues, and whites. Informal, flowing perennials are
juxtaposed against a traditional layout, outlined by a neat boxwood hedge. Guests are
invited to take a stroll, as vignettes of flowers flow through the garden to draw them along
the pathway.
The garden’s mature climbing hydrangea is a beautiful backdrop to a New Jersey shade
garden where you will find stone benches, to stop and stay a while and enjoy the fresh
outdoors.

Mansion in May is a prestigious designer showhouse and gardens event held every two to three years in New Jersey, showcasing the work of some of the region’s most talented designers, landscapers, and artisans. Hosted to benefit Morristown Medical Center, it transforms a historic estate into an inspiring display of creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship, drawing thousands of visitors from across the area.
Being selected to participate was truly an honor, as only a limited number of designers are chosen for this celebrated event. To be included among such a talented group was both humbling and inspiring, and it provided an incredible opportunity to share our vision and expertise with a wider audience while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Visitors were invited to meander through this enchanted landscape filled with a soft, dreamy palette of spring blooms. Clusters of Lavender Picotee Petunias and Emerald Blue Phlox spill over the edges of the restored, stone-lined beds. Spikes of Camelot White Foxglove, lavender-hued salvia, delicate sprays of bleeding heart flowers, and vignettes of color from assorted perennials weave a story of romance throughout the
space.

The designers thoughtfully restored the original garden layout, enhancing each enclave with hand-carved, imported granite benches nestled within the surrounding plantings. With a careful balance of structure and whimsy, they preserved the garden’s timeless charm while elevating its seasonal beauty.

We at Country Mile Gardens were thrilled that our installation was the only garden at Mansion in May purchased by the homeowner, who was overjoyed with the stunning transformation.
