Oasis by Design

The garden surrounding this hillside pool was once dominated by overgrown shrubs that encroached on the pool deck, making the space feel cluttered and difficult to navigate. Despite the lush growth, the exposed setting offered little privacy.

Jenn crafted a thoughtful planting plan that balances beauty with practicality. Tall rows of Skip Laurels now provide privacy on two open sides, while lower-growing Cherry Laurels form a unified backdrop on the third—creating the sense of an inviting outdoor room without feeling enclosed. Carefully chosen plantings introduce layers of texture and color, naturally suppressing weeds and enhancing the overall composition. A succession of blooms—from Coral Bells and Weigela to Hosta, Hydrangea, and Allium—ensures visual interest throughout the entire pool season.
